Donald Trump Assassination Attempt

Ryan Wesley Routh: Suspect in Donald Trump Assassination Attempt Previously Sought to Fight in Ukraine

Former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an alleged assassination attempt on Sunday afternoon in Florida, according to the FBI. The incident unfolded outside Trump’s golf course, just two months after a similar attempt at a rally in Boulder, Pennsylvania. The suspect, 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, was taken into custody after Secret Service agents fired shots near the edge of the golf course.

Routh was found hiding in the bushes, and when Secret Service agents fired their weapons, he reportedly sprang from the undergrowth and fled in a black car. Authorities, aided by witnesses, quickly tracked down the vehicle. At the scene, they recovered a high-powered AK-47-style rifle equipped with a scope and a GoPro camera.

“We have someone in custody who is a potential suspect,” Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw told AFP

Ryan Wesley Routh, a former construction worker from Greensboro, North Carolina, has recently gained attention. Despite lacking formal military experience, Routh had previously expressed a strong desire to join armed conflicts, specifically indicating interest in fighting in Ukraine following Russia’s 2022 invasion.

In a post on X, Routh proclaimed his readiness to “fight and die” in Ukraine, stating, “I AM WILLING TO FLY TO KRAKOW AND GO TO THE BORDER OF UKRAINE TO VOLUNTEER AND FIGHT AND DIE.”
